No text shown on fax preview ( Linux )

If your fax or other preview screen is empty of text, but you see the lines, then you need to install the free fonts used by Synapse.

You can download them from here.  Unzip them into a directory, and in Settings/User/Misc/Font Root Dir, set this to the directory in which you unzipped these fonts.

In Ubuntu, you will probably want to add them to /usr/share/fonts/truetype/freefont/

So, you can do this ( as the font directory is owned by root )

sudo nautilus

and then navigate to this directory, and then drop all the fonts there.  To make them accessible system wide, you will need to update the font cache.
